Dale Brooks, 60, of Marble Falls, died of heart failure suddenly, but peacefully, at his home Nov. 19, 2014.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Tyler, who he married in January 2013; other family members; and many lifelong friends.
Dale, Ella and her mother moved to Marble Falls from Houston in March 2014. He was very happy here and was recruiting friends to come visit and retire here.
Dale was a lifelong Houstonian. He graduated from Bellaire High School and also attended classes at HSPVA in its first year. He worked as a camera man and an engineer for Channel 13, retiring after 27 years there. He was very involved in Houston’s punk music scene in the ‘80s and ‘90s.
Dale was a committed environmentalist and president of the Houston Electric Auto Association for more than 10 years. He drove a white Chevy Volt in Marble Falls. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of film, music and space exploration.
Friends are invited to gather at the Houston Arboretum from 2-5 p.m. Jan. 11, 2015, to share Dale stories. If desired, memorials may be made to an environmental group.
