Gladys Merle St. John of Marble Falls passed away Jan. 13, 2015. She was born Sept. 10, 1917, to Clyde and Lura Gardner Cheatham.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jeff Austin St. John, as well as two brothers, Clovis Cheatham and Troy Cheatham.
Merle is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Cummins and husband Charles; son, Jeff St. John; grandchildren, Sheri Leddy and husband John, Chris Cummins and wife Serena, Jill Burguier and Jodi St. John; three great-granddaughters, Alexandra, Sophie and Callan Cummins; sister, Joy Taylor; sister-in-law JoAnn Cheatham; and nieces Lisa Sheets and Lynn Downs.
Merle was an avid bridge player and golfer. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Marble Falls and Hidden Falls Country Club in Meadowlakes for 35 years. She loved every minute of her life.
Merle will be buried at Turnersville Cemetery in Coryell County at 3 p.m. Jan. 17. A memorial service is 10 a.m. Jan. 19 at First United Methodist Church.
The family wishes to thank Gateway Gardens and Granite Mesa for the love and care staff gave her during the last few years.
