In 1964, he moved his family to Rosenberg, Texas, where he owned and operated Miller’s Pharmacy for 11 years. Seeking a quieter lifestyle, he bought a small pharmacy (Walnut Pharmacy) in New Braunfels, Texas.
When Jim and Billie were ready to retire, they moved back to Burnet, and Jim did relief pharmacy work for Cattles Pharmacy in Lampasas, retiring for good in 2008 at the age of 80.
Jim’s passions were playing golf with his best friend, Todd Gerald, playing dominoes and other games with his family, reading, cheering for his beloved Longhorns and eating cheese enchiladas where and whenever he could.
Jim was loved by so many people. He was a gentle, sweet man, and everyone who met him was touched by his cheerful kindness.
