Howard Lee Lange, 83, of Burnet, Texas, died Jan. 3, 2015. He was born June 26, 1931, in Mason County to Leo and Olene Lange.
He married Margaret Ann Nichols in Burnet on April 12, 1952.
Howard worked in construction management in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for 23 years. He moved to Dallas in 1986 as a representative of a bonding company involved in mediation and arbitration in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Howard moved back to Burnet in 1997, serving on the city council from 1998 to 2002. Later, he opened his pecan-cracking business.
Howard was a loving husband and father to his family, a man who we all respected and looked up to. He was a man of many talents and one heck of a 42 player!
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Ann Lange; children, Jeff Lange and wife Terry Lynn, Lisa Von Borstel and husband Harry and Howard “Hal” Lange Jr. and wife Sabrina; grandchildren, Aimee Rabenhorst and husband Brien, Christopher Lange and wife Elisa, Haley Lusson, Sarah Almond, Joshua Almond, Mathew Lange and wife Chelsea, Gus Lange, Alex Lange, Kelsey Lange and Ashley Lange; and great-grandchildren, William Rabenhorst, Hannah Lange and Judson Lange.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Jan. 6 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222. A funeral service is 10 a.m. Jan. 7 at First Baptist Church of Burnet with interment to follow at Burnet City Cemetery.
