Jonathan Martin Harris, 48, of Marble Falls died Jan. 5, 2015. He was born Oct. 18, 1968, in El Paso, Texas, to Paul and Mary Ann Harris.
Jon lived in Arlington and Odessa before settling in Marble Falls in 1994. He worked for Cold Springs Granite, Fastenal Tools, the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office and, most recently, as a security officer for the Horseshoe Bay Resort.
Jon enjoyed reading, watching every new movie that came out and dove hunting, but his greatest love was for the game of baseball. He came by the love of baseball naturally from his grandfather, Les Adair. The Texas Rangers were his favorite team, and most days, when he was not at work, you could find him wearing a Texas Rangers jersey. Each summer, he enjoyed taking his nephews to the ballpark in Arlington to see a game.
His friends who knew him best described him as witty, quite the character and always willing to help a friend — mostly, they have said he will truly be missed.
Survivors include his father, Paul Harris; sister, Allyson Black and husband Mike; niece, Emily Wieweck; and nephews, Jacob Wieweck and Alex Black.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Mary Ann Harris.
A celebration of his life is 10 a.m. Jan. 17 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373, with a private family interment to follow at the Horseshoe Bay Mausoleum, where he will rest beside his mother.
